You can cancel a paid plan at any time, in a few clicks, without contacting anyone. Your plan keeps working until the end of the period you already paid for. This page shows how to cancel, what changes, and what to do about refunds or billing questions.

Cancel in three steps

  1. Open the user menu (your avatar, top right) and click Manage subscription. You can also scroll to the bottom of the Billing page and click Manage subscription there.
  2. Stripe's billing portal opens for your account. Choose the option to cancel your subscription and confirm.
  3. You come back to FromScratch. The user menu now shows Cancelling next to your plan, with Ends on and the date.

Note

The billing portal is Stripe's page, not ours: the exact wording of its buttons is Stripe's. Everything you change there is synced back to FromScratch when you return.

What happens until the end date

Nothing changes right away. Until the date shown after Ends on:

  • you keep your plan, your credits and every paid feature (publishing, custom domain, file attachments, code view, export, premium models, developer API);
  • the Billing page reminds you: On that date the subscription ends and your balance drops to 0.

If you change your mind before that date, open Manage subscription again and renew the subscription in Stripe's portal.

What happens after the end date

When the period ends, your account moves to the Free plan:

  • your credit balance drops to 0 (credits of a paid plan don't carry over, and the Free welcome credits are only given once, at sign-up);
  • paid features are no longer available: the Publish button reads Publish — Starter or Pro, attachments, the code view, export and premium models are locked again;
  • your projects stay in your account. If you have more projects than the Free plan allows, you can't create a new one until you are back under the limit, but the existing ones are not deleted.

Warning

Publishing is a paid feature. If you have sites or shops online, decide what you want to do with them before the end date: export the code first if you want to keep a copy (Export › Download ZIP, a paid feature).

Cancelling during a free trial

During a trial without a card, you don't need to do anything: if no card is added, the subscription ends by itself at the end of the trial and nothing is charged. You can still cancel earlier from Manage subscription. See The free trial (no card).

Refunds and billing questions

For a declined payment, a double charge, an invoice question or a refund request, use the contact form with the topic Payment / billing and include the date and the amount. Billing requests are handled first, and we answer within 24 business hours. See Getting help.

Coming back later

You can subscribe again at any time from the Billing page: pick a plan card and go through Stripe's checkout. Your projects are still there, and the new plan's credits arrive once the payment goes through.

FAQ

Will I lose my projects if I cancel?

No. Cancelling changes your plan, not your projects. Your projects and their versions stay in your account.

Is the rest of the month refunded?

Cancelling stops the next renewal; your plan stays active until the end date you already paid for. For anything else, contact us with the topic Payment / billing.

Can I delete my account instead?

Write to us through the contact form (topic Account / sign-in) from the address of your account.
