Plans and the free tier

FromScratch has three plans: Free, Starter and Pro. Every plan uses the same agent, the same workspace and the same templates. What changes is how many credits you get, how many projects you can keep at once, and a handful of features that only the paid plans unlock. This page explains the differences so you can pick the plan that fits what you are building.

Where to see the plans

Open the user menu (your avatar, top right) and choose Billing. The page, titled Simple, transparent pricing, shows one card per plan with its monthly price and what it includes, then a Compare table underneath. The plan you are on carries the Current badge. The same plans are described publicly on the Pricing page.

Note

Credit amounts, project limits and prices are set by the platform and can change. The plan cards on the Billing page always show the current numbers, which is why this guide doesn't repeat them.

How to read a plan card

Every card lists the same rows, and the Compare table lines them up side by side:

The paid cards also list Publish online + custom domain, File import (PDF, images, docs) and Code export & GitHub push.

The Free plan

The Free plan is described as Try the agent with starter credits. When you sign up you receive a one-time set of welcome credits. They are not renewed: the Billing page says Welcome credits · not renewed, and once they are spent they are gone.

With the Free plan you can:

• describe an app on the Home page or start from any template, including the online shop designs;
• chat with the agent, approve its plan and build step by step;
• watch the live preview on desktop and mobile;
• go back to earlier versions with Versions.

What the Free plan does not include:

• Publishing your site at a public address, and attaching a custom domain;
• attaching files to your messages and the Project files panel;
• the Code and Split views of the source code;
• Export (ZIP download and GitHub push);
• the Premium AI models (shown with a lock in the model pickers);
• the Developer API.

When your welcome credits run out, the chat shows You're out of credits. Your work is saved; to keep going, you move to Starter (the free trial needs no card).

Starter and Pro

Starter is Ideal for shipping side projects. Pro is for Heavy usage, more projects and credits. Both unlock every feature listed above, and both work the same way:

• you get a monthly amount of credits, and at each renewal your balance is reset to that amount: unused credits don't roll over;
• you can keep more active projects than on Free;
• each reply has a ceiling on the credits and steps it may use, and the bigger plan has higher ceilings. When a reply reaches it, the agent pauses cleanly and you reply « continue ».

Payment is handled by Stripe, in euros, and you can cancel at any time (see Cancel your subscription).

Your balance and your slots

At the top of the Billing page, two pills show your Balance (credits left) and your Slots (projects you can still create). On a paid plan, the page and the user menu also show Renews on and the date. The Activity link at the bottom of the page lists every movement of credits: welcome credits, project creations, replies, renewals.

Which plan should I choose?

• Exploring an idea: start on Free, build a first version and look at it in the preview.
• Putting one site online: Starter covers publishing, a custom domain and file uploads.
• Building several sites or shops, or long build sessions: Pro gives you more credits, more projects and higher per-reply limits.
