Every store built with FromScratch comes with its own store admin: a back office, separate from the storefront, where you see orders and customers and manage the catalog by hand. Most changes are faster through the chat, but the admin is where you follow your business day to day.

Where to find it

The store admin has its own address, different from the shop's: it's the shop's address with -admin added, and the admin pages live under /app.

In the preview

Ask the agent:

Example prompt
Give me the link and the login of my store admin.

It replies with the exact address and the login of your preview's admin. Open it in a new tab.

On the live store

Once your store is published, an Admin button appears in the project's top bar. It opens the Store admin panel with:

  • Open admin — opens the live admin in a new tab.
  • Credentials — the Email and the Password to sign in, each with a copy button.

The password is generated for each published store (« Unique password for this store — keep it safe. »). Keep it in your password manager.

Warning

The admin is where your orders and your customers' details are. Don't share the login, and don't paste it in the chat.

What you do in the admin

  • Orders — every order placed at the checkout, with its items, the customer's address, the delivery method and the payment. With Stripe on, the order shows its Stripe payment, and refunds are handled from there.
  • Customers — the accounts created on your storefront.
  • Products — everything in your catalog, including what the chat tools don't cover: stock levels, sale prices, nested categories, and editing the options of a single variant.
  • Settings — store details, regions (selling zones, with the payment methods offered in each) and shipping.

Chat or admin: which one?

You want to… Easiest
Add or import many products, clear the demo Chat
Change a price, a photo, a title Chat (or admin)
Variants such as sizes or colours, collections for the menu Chat
Stock levels, sale prices, nested categories Admin
See and handle orders, refunds, customers Admin
Change the design, the pages, the texts Chat — the admin doesn't touch the design

The two work on the same catalog: a product added in the chat shows up in the admin, and the other way round.

Tip

Make catalog changes in the preview (chat or preview admin), then republish. Changes made directly in the live admin are not copied back to your preview, and the next republish starts the live store again from your preview's data — see Publish and update a shop.

Product images in the admin

Product photos are stored with your storefront. The platform makes them visible in the admin too. If an image shows in the shop but appears broken in the admin, reload the admin page; on the live store, republish. If it persists, see Fix common problems.

Payment settings

Payment keys are never shown in the admin: they live in your project's Variables. To turn card payments on or off, use the Payments button of the project, not the admin — see Take payments in your store.

FAQ

I lost the live admin password. What do I do?

Open the Admin button in the project's top bar: Credentials shows it again.

Can I give a teammate access to the admin?

Anyone with the login can sign in. For access to the project itself, use Share in the project (Editor or Viewer).

The admin is in English. Can I change it?

The admin interface comes from the commerce engine. Your storefront's texts are yours: ask the agent to write them in any language.
