FromScratch keeps technical vocabulary out of your way, but a few words come up again and again in the app and in this help center. Here they are, grouped by theme, each explained in plain language with a link to learn more.

Building

Agent — The AI that builds your site. You talk to it in the chat; it asks questions, proposes a plan, writes the code, checks its own work in the preview and reports back after each step.

Prompt — Any message you send to the agent. See Write prompts that work.

Reply — The agent's answer to one prompt. A reply can include work (pages built, products added) shown as activity cards, and ends with a short report.

Plan — The list of 3 to 6 steps the agent proposes before building. You review it, edit it if needed, then click Approve and start step 1. Not to be confused with your subscription plan. See Approve the plan, step by step.

Step — One item of the plan, something you can see in the preview. The agent does one step per reply, then waits for Next step.

Choices — Clickable options the agent shows when it asks you to pick a direction. Clicking one sends it as your answer.

Template — A ready-made starting point from the Home page (Landing Page, SaaS, Restaurant, Portfolio, E-commerce site…), with real content and working forms. See What you can build.

Model — The AI model behind the agent. Premium models can cost more credits per reply and are included in paid plans. See AI models and your plan.

Your project

Project — One site or app, with its chat, files, versions and settings. Projects live on the Home page and can be organised in folders.

Workspace — The private environment where your project runs while you build. It sleeps when you're away and wakes up when you come back.

Preview — The live view of your site inside the workspace, on the right of the chat, with Desktop and Mobile views. It is private: only you (and people you share the project with) see it.

Versions — The automatic history of your project. Every agent change is saved; Go back here restores any version. See Versions: undo anything.

Project files — Documents you add in Files (PDF, Office, images, text) that the agent can read on every prompt. Starter and Pro.

Variables — The menu where you store settings and secret keys (environment variables) for your site, instead of pasting them in the chat. See Environment variables.

Going live

Publish — Put your site online at a public address with HTTPS. Republish sends your latest changes live; Unpublish takes the site offline. See Publish your site.

Site address — The subdomain of your published site, editable from the top bar.

Custom domain — Your own domain name (like app.yourdomain.com) pointed at your published site with a DNS A record. See Use your own domain.

Shops and money

Shop — A project created from the E-commerce site template: a real commerce engine with cart, checkout, orders and a store admin.

Store admin — The back office of your shop (orders, products, customers), opened from Store admin › Open admin with its own Credentials.

Manual Payment — The default checkout mode of a new shop: orders are placed without taking a payment.

Connect Stripe — The button in Payments that links your own Stripe account so the shop accepts cards. See Take payments in your store.

Credits and plans

Credits — The unit that measures the AI work of each reply. See How credits work.

Hold — Credits reserved when you send a message; you're charged what the reply actually used.

Per-message cap — The maximum steps and credits one reply can use on your plan. When reached, the agent pauses and you reply « continue ».

Plan (subscription) — Free, Starter or Pro. Each comes with its credits, project slots and features. See Plans and the free tier.

API key — A key starting with fs_live_ that lets your own software create sites through the developer API. See Generate sites with the API.
