What you can build
Websites, web apps and real online shops: the templates you can start from, the four shop designs, and the kinds of projects that work best.
On this page
With FromScratch you can build most things that live in a web browser: a showcase site for a business, a landing page that collects sign-ups, an internal tool for your team, a dashboard, a booking system or a complete online shop. This page lists the starting points and gives you an idea of what works well.
Start from a blank page or from a template
On the Home page you can simply describe your idea in the box under « What do you want to build? ». The agent then starts from a minimal starter and builds everything around your description.
If something close to your idea exists, pick it under « Or start from a template ». Templates are not screenshots: each one is a working app with its own small database, real content and forms that save. You then ask the agent to change the texts, the colours, the pages and the features.
| Template | What you get |
|---|---|
| Blank | A minimal starter: the agent builds everything from your description. |
| Landing Page | A product landing page with an interactive demo and a working waitlist. |
| SaaS | A software marketing site: product hero, pricing read from the database, a working sign-up form. |
| Admin Dashboard | KPIs and a revenue chart computed from real orders, filters, inventory and settings. |
| CMS | A content manager: posts with status tabs and an editor that saves drafts, schedules and publishes. |
| Storefront | Collections, a product grid and a cart with stock checks and shipping totals. |
| Restaurant | Menu and opening hours from the database, table reservations by time slot. |
| Blog | A featured essay, tag filter, reading view and a newsletter sign-up. |
| Portfolio | A filterable project grid, case-study pages and a contact form. |
| Real Estate | Property search with live filters, listing details and viewing requests. |
| Fitness | A weekly class schedule with spots left, class booking and membership plans. |
| Agency | Case studies, services and a project-inquiry form with a budget choice. |
| Chat App | Conversations, message bubbles and a composer wired to a pluggable assistant. |
Before you create the project, the « Site theme » toggle next to the templates lets you choose Light or Dark for your site. See Light and dark sites.
A real online shop
The « E-commerce site » card is different from the « Storefront » template: it creates a complete store with a commerce engine, a cart, a checkout, customer accounts, orders and a store admin where you manage products and orders. When you click it, « Choose your shop design » opens with four designs, each with its own demo products and available in light and dark:
- MAISON — Fashion & apparel: editorial serif, full-width campaign photo, portrait product cards with sizes.
- Oaklane — Home & living: calm Scandinavian feel, split hero, shop by room, sage accent.
- Velour — Beauty & cosmetics: soft blush palette, serif headlines, shop by skin concern.
- Kinetic — Tech & gadgets: crisp product layout, electric-blue accent, specs on every card.
You then replace the demo catalog with your own products, or import them from your existing Shopify or WooCommerce shop. Everything is explained in Create an online store and Add products or import your catalog.
Ideas that work well
Here are typical projects, with a guide for several of them:
- A booking app for a salon, a coach or a rental — see Build a booking app with AI.
- A small CRM to follow contacts and deals — see Build a CRM with AI.
- A dashboard that turns your data into charts — see Build a dashboard with AI.
- An internal tool: an inventory, a request form, a planning board — see Build an internal tool with AI.
- A marketplace connecting two sides — see Build a marketplace with AI.
- A showcase site for a business, an event or a portfolio.
A website for my yoga studio "Studio Lune" in Bordeaux: a home page with a calm photo, the weekly class schedule, a page with prices, and a form to book a trial class. Soft beige and green colours, in French. An internal tool for our team to track equipment loans: a list of items with their status, a form to lend an item to someone with a return date, and a page showing what is late.Bring an existing project
If you already have a project's source code, « Import a project (.zip) » on the Home page creates a project from your archive. You can then ask the agent to continue from it.
Good to know
- Everything you build runs in the browser, on a computer or a phone. Use the Desktop / Mobile switch above the preview to check both.
- Card payments come built in for shops (with Stripe). For other kinds of sites, ask the agent; any keys go in Variables, never in the chat. See Environment variables.
- A large project is built in several steps. Start with the heart of your idea, publish, then add the rest.
Tip
if you hesitate between two templates, pick the one whose data is closest to yours (bookings, orders, posts…). Colours and texts are the easiest things to change afterwards.
FAQ
Can I change everything in a template?
Yes. Texts, images, colours, pages and features can all be changed by asking the agent. The demo content is only there to start.
Is the « Storefront » template a real shop?
It is a working store-style site with a cart. For a full shop with checkout, payments, customer accounts and an admin, use « E-commerce site ».
Can I start from a website I like?
Yes: give the agent the address and say what you want to keep (layout, colours, sections). It studies the page and builds your own version.
